FUTURE READY QUARTERLY GATHERING: BLACKPOOL

25-26 November 2024 / Blackpool

The Blackpool Future Ready Quarterly Gathering focused on Stage 3 of the Net Zero Journey - implementing the change.

Despite a bit of travel chaos following Storm Bert, over 100 like-minded net zero leaders and champions came together to hear from our Net Zero Living projects, participate in discussions around GB Energy and dive deeper into net zero tools and platforms.

The interactive tour of Blackpool via tram was a particular highlight, showcasing the council’s exciting low carbon initiatives and innovation activity.

Great British Energy, Local Power Plan and a shifting policy landscape.

The newly formed GB Energy joined Regen to hear first-hand about the work of the Net Zero Living funded projects. They are currently developing the plans and policies that will form the backbone of the organisation's operation under the new government, and the Blackpool event served as a prime opportunity for local authorities to demonstrate how their projects can help to develop the Local Power Plan.
