Opportunity for Citizen Engagement Support: Innovate UK Expression of Interest
We have been made aware that some of our Fast Followers are not requiring technical support from Involve on citizen engagement. We will be requiring final confirmation of this position by 31st December. We would therefore like to offer out the opportunity to work with Involve to our 18 Pathfinder projects. There will be a limited number of places and we would therefore like you to fill in a short Expression of Interest form for us to shortlist.
Involve offer the following services:
Community Conversation
Involve trains local participants to act as ‘conversation starters’, talking with their local community to answer what a healthy, thriving, greener, resilient and sustainable place can look like.
This will support participants to learn about climate change and deliberate on their findings so they can bring about a refreshed vision and recommendation for each place.
Citizen Visioning
Involve sees Citizen Visioning as a way to develop a bigger picture view that looks into the future, responding to local assets, needs, and what makes each place unique.
Having a clear set of ambitions, developed by citizens across 3 sessions, can help coordinate action and help councils get policy right the first time. By stepping back and ensuring projects connect into a wider vision for your place, specific project challenges can be unblocked.
Strategic Advice and Capacity Building
Supporting existing engagement plans by providing up to 25 days of flexible support. This could look like developing an engagement strategy, or running capacity building on public engagement or facilitation for council teams and/or local partners.
There are a few points to consider;
- The support will only become available in the new year and so delivery will be later in your project;
- The support requested must be related to delivering the outcomes of the existing scope of your project;
- You will need to have resource and support to define the scope of work with Involve and gain internal buy-in.
If you have any further questions, please contact Kara Cartwright or Emily Tulloh.
